Chew Magna (click on photographs to bring up bigger/better versions).

Since my visit, I've discovered that there may be another pump in Chew Magna - need a return visit.

chew magna In the centre of Chew Magna the pump is the central feature of a small memorial garden commemorating an obviously well-respected and long-standing Councillor. A small panel is inscribed:

NORMAN REED
CHAIRMAN OF THE PARISH COUNCIL
1969-1991
WANSDYKE DISTRICT COUNCILLOR
1973-1991
Markings: There's a maker's panel on the pump, but it's hard to decipher. Just possibly "Winwood, Bristol".

Manufacturer: Possibly Winwood & Co, Bristol, but the pump has features in common with one by Llewelin & James of Bristol.

chew magna Just got a glimpse of this pump behind the Pelican Inn.

Markings: Too far away to see.

Manufacturer: Unk.
