Longstanton, Cambs (click on photograph to bring up bigger/better version).

One of two pumps in Longstanton, Cambs, both of which have now (2021) been renovated. In the image on the left (thanks to Longstanton Parish Council), the pump has still to receive its topcoat. Images on the right are earlier ones, thanks to Paul Snelling. Markings: A shield carrying a crest, and proclaiming "Bamford's Frost Protected Lift Pump" Manufacturer: Bamford's of Uttoxeter.

The second pump in Longstanton is a smaller model made by the same company. Thanks to Longstanton Parish Council for the photo on the left and to Paul Snelling for those on the right. Markings: A shield with the words "Bamford's "Universal" Deep Well Pump", and within this another shield carrying the letters "H B & S" [= H Bamford and Sons]. Manufacturer: Bamford's of Uttoxeter.
