Pump Paint Stripping Project

A pump in Gloucester had so many coats of black gloss paint that the trademark had been completely obliterated. It looked to be an interesting one and so Roger Howse negotiated with the owner of the pump that he should return to work on it. Roger returned with his materials and with a great deal of care not to spoil the finish of the rest of the pump duly applied the paint stripper, left it for 6 hours to do its work and revealed the trademark.

It turned out to be an early Joseph Evans trademark - pre-dating their famous "Lion" - and one of only a very small number so far recorded across the UK. Thanks for a great job, Rog - and especially as you chose the coldest couple of days of the year to do it.
