This one's in a garden in Cemmaes
Road, nr Machynlleth, Powys, but I can't get close enough to check it out. It
seems to be an old pump, but might now only be a garden

At Cwm Llinau, Powys, this pump
seems to be old, but might just be a garden feature. What looks like a bird
swinging on the top of the handle is, on closer inspection, a
model. Markings: A "P" within a hexagon. Manufacturer: Trademark currently used by Puteus, of Germany. |

An old pump, in good external
condition, re-located as a water feature in a garden in Forge, nr Machynlleth,
Powys. It has a hosepipe running up inside to provide a continuous stream of
water. Markings: Flag, and below that is the proclamation "All British Made". Manufacturer: Lee, Howl. |

This pump in the centre of Montgomery, Powys,
carries an earl's coronet design and the date 1876. The flat front plate and
spout are of cast iron, but the housing behind it is made of substantial pieces
of timber - showing signs of rot. A large handle is still in place and not
strapped down. Stone trough. It's one of two pumps in Montgomery which were
installed when Edward James Herbert, 3rd Earl of Powis, modernised the water
supply. Markings: Pump is encased. Manufacturer: Unk. |
