dunmore A very impressive pump on the green in the beautifully-kept model village of Dunmore, Falkirk, built to house the workers on the 5th Earl of Dunmore's estate. Cast iron panels contain the following inscriptions:
THE SCHOOL AND VILLAGE
OF

TOGETHER WITH THIS WELL
BUILT BY
CATHERINE HERBERT
COUNTESS OF DUNMORE
WERE COMPLETED
A.D. 1879.
dunmore dunmore "HERE QUENCH YOUR THIRST, AND MARK IN ME
AN EMBLEM OF TRUE CHARITY;
WHO, WHILE MY BOUNTY I BESTOW,
AM NEITHER HEARD NOR SEEN TO FLOW,

ladykirk A large red sandstone edifice near Ladykirk, Scottish Borders, with a handle and access door hidden around the back. Photo supplied by John Gow - thanks again, John. A diamond-shaped metal plaque also holds the spout, and an incription reads as follows: ladykirk
