St. Sampson (click on photograph to bring up bigger/better version).

route de la passee, 2016 An enormous pitcher pump, set well above normal reach, atop a rough concrete base on Route de la Passée, St. Sampson. This model is very similar indeed to one at the Folk & Costume Museum in Saumarez Park, Forest, which we were told was probably German in origin. The concrete base has a look of wartime construction, and my guess is that the pump was installed here to fill water carts or mobile water tanks. route de la passee, 2016 route de la passee, 2016
