newark-on-trent In the market place at Newark-on-Trent, Notts. Thanks to John Hurst for the photos, left and right. The pump carries the coat of arms of Newark-on-Trent, and lower down a laurel garland. In 2016 the Newark Civic Trust refurbished the pump with a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and kindly sent us some images of the pump, below - thanks to their chairman, Michael Knapton. No working parts remain, as the pump was converted to mains water at one stage - the lead pipe can be made out in one of the photos. newark-on-trent
