one's in front of the Royal Oak, at Cardington, Shrops, but it has currently
been relegated from its original prime position near the front door to this
insignificant corner. Markings: Two shields of different shape, the upper one stating "7962/MARK/17.X", and the lower one "BAMFORD'S/UNIVERSAL/BU/PUMP". Manufacturer: Bamford's. |

Quite a hefty one near
Stokesay Castle, Stokesay, Shrops. Markings: Lion, and "Pump Pottery" around the cap. Manufacturer: Joseph Evans - looks like their "Strong Deep Well Lift Pump", which could be supplied with 3½", 4" or 4½" downpipes. |

Wistanstow, Shrops.
This pump sits in its neatly fenced off area next to the footpath to the
village hall. The handle moves freely but, despite much effort by me, no water
